To create a specialty lighting schedule for a new build that was sympathetic to an environment of learning and discovery.
DV Design Outcome
St Patricks Primary School located in the picturesque Victorian country town of Kilmore, required a new build on a modest budget. The lighting design required a considered solution, sensitive to the environment with basic elements of functional task lighting a primary focus. In addition, the school required an interesting visual lighting plan with the Discovery Centre at its’ entry point. Fun and curiosity were essential for this environment of education and learning. Great sensitivity was given to the development of the design particularly at the spine of the master plan. Here the design strategy was driven by the needs of the children, families and educators. The overall result was that of stimulation in a safe environment that encourages learning and observation whilst offering a nurturing safe space.
